Zoe + Brendan: Featured on Farewell fiancé!

Beautifully documented by The White Tree, Zoe and Brendan celebrated their modern day romance overlooking the sheltered waters of Sorrento Bay.

Offset by lashings of greenery and red brick, the small courtyard of The Sisters Kitchen Café was a befitting space for a garden party. Fully immersed in the rustic outdoor environment, guests gathered around wooden planting boxes billowing with fragrant herbs and ripening vegetables. Once a nursery, the whimsical hideaway authored a calm, earthy feeling and encouraged a wonderful sense of intimacy.

“We both met online seven years ago, back when it was all a bit new and embarrassing and we instantly fell in love,” Zoe said. “We just wanted the day to be light and fun.”

Zoe and Brendan who both wanted to celebrate their vows in a relaxed, understated way without sacrificing their style, focused on making the food, beverages and music the highlight of their day. Rather than a seated dining experience, the couple opted for a roaming cocktail menu catered by Ed Dixon Food Design. The standing affair saw guests mingling, laughing and dancing under a gleaming canopy of woven fairy lights.

Dove grey and mint became a reoccurring design motif throughout the day, complementing Zoe’s sleek and simple bouquet. All of the design details worked harmoniously with the couples’ classic, no-fuss style and embodied Sorrento’s rocky ocean platforms and stretches of sandy beach.

“My style is modern with a classic twist,” Zoe said. “I just wanted lots of white and green and warm lighting. The fairy lights created a beautiful ambiance and we added lots of tea light candles.”

An unanticipated venue change also changed the style of the wedding and with that, Zoe’s wedding gown changed too. Her Suzanne Harward luxe jersey boat neck dress with cap sleeves was an ode to Zoe’s timeless taste. Dressed in an assortment of streamlined black gowns, the bridesmaid’s offered a contemporary touch to the bridal party.
