Madeleine & Christopher: Byron View Farm

Madeleine & Christopher: Byron View Farm

Names: Madeleine and Christopher Stone

Wedding date: 21.02.2020

Ceremony & Reception Venue: Byron View Farm, Byron Bay

About our wedding day: Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives. We had 80 guests attend and the weather was a perfect 27 degrees with a gentle cool breeze. When guests arrived they had time to have a drink and explore the grounds before our ceremony started. Our celebrant, Cara, made our ceremony so memorable and unique by asking both Chris and I to secretly list 10 things we loved about each other and send them through to her before the wedding. Neither of us knew each other's answers and Cara read them aloud during the ceremony. This was such a beautiful moment for us and many of our guests said that it was the most personal and genuine ceremony they had ever witnessed. After the ceremony, we had a champagne tower topped with Mumm Champagne. Guests were then served flowing Aperol Spritz or Grapefruit Sunset cocktails which really set a party mood for everyone. We dined outdoors under the stars with a sea of fairy lights over the tables. Chris and I love dancing so after cutting our cake and having our first dance guests were served espresso martinis and the outdoor dance floor opened up. We finished the night, following our afterparty at Locura, back at the main beach with our bridal party eating falafel kebabs and I would not have had it any other way!

Finding my wedding gown and couture experience at Suzanne Harward: I found my Suzanne Harward wedding gown only one month after getting engaged. It was my first experience looking at wedding dresses and I completely fell in love with my dress and knew it was the one as soon as I tried it on. The ladies were amazing and made me feel completely confident and relaxed in my decision to purchase my dress 15 months out from my wedding and on my first experience even looking. Being able to wear a custom Suzanne Harward gown was a complete highlight of the entire wedding experience.

Our wedding style: We described our wedding theme as monochrome luxe meets coastal romance. With our wedding being held in the Byron Bay hinterland we wanted to incorporate the relaxed energy of Byron Bay with the chic elements of a more formal, traditional wedding. We used a neutral colour palette filled with blushes, nudes and soft finishes. We carried this colour palette from the florals through to table styling (which included blush napkins and rose quartz crystal chunks) and cocktail choices.

First dance song: Our first dance song was Chateau by Angus and Julia Stone.

Advice for future couples: Our advice would be to go with your heart. Your wedding day is truly the best day of your life and it goes so quickly! I also feel for us having a destination wedding was the best decision. It allowed us to spend quality time with our guests in the days leading up to the wedding and to have a recovery party the next day.
